A Lighthouse Engagement Session- Pete and Victoria

Updated: Sep 17, 2019

I was sitting on my living room couch when I answered my phone, thinking to myself, “Why is my brother calling me from his vacation?” I said hello and the first thing he said to me was, “I have something to tell you.” I said, “Okay, what is it?” He said, “Victoria and I got engaged!”

Now you would expect most people to jump up and down and scream and congratulate them, which I did do, later on. Do you want to know what my first reaction was? I said, “Aw, no fair!” That was my photographer mind speaking before my sister mind. Ha. Pete didn’t tell anyone in the family that he was planning on proposing. And I really thought I was going to photograph his proposal for him. But that is hard to do when I am in New York and they were in Disney World. But, being the Disney fanatics that they are, it only made sense that they would get engaged in Disney.

The second thought that crossed my mind and I expresse in an over the top loud voice, “I get a sister!” Victoria will be my very first sister and I could not ask for a better person to take that position. I never thought that my brother would find someone just as obsessed with baseball and Disney as he is, until he met Victoria. She has the sweetest and most genuine soul I have ever met and I wouldn’t want anyone else to marry my brother.

I am so happy to watch Pete and Victoria walk through life hand in hand. Congratulations on your engagement and congratulations on buying your brand new house, because we wouldn’t be Italian if you didn’t buy the house next door. I hope you fill your home with love, Disney show tunes, baseball announcements, sixties music, and hopefully a crying baby in the near future. Preferably, February of 2021. I love you both and I can't wait to stand by your side as you say I DO!

With Love- Jeannine
